The Department of Pediatrics at Sanskaram University is dedicated to the health and well-being of infants, children, and adolescents. Our mission is to train future doctors to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and holistic care to children, from birth through adolescence.
The department focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of childhood illnesses while promoting child growth, development, and nutrition. Through modern teaching methods, clinical exposure, and community outreach, we prepare students to become skilled and empathetic pediatric healthcare professionals.

  • Mission:To provide quality teaching and hands-on clinical training in child health. To promote preventive pediatrics and community child health programs. To encourage research on child growth, nutrition, and pediatric diseases. To deliver compassionate care in both hospital and community settings.
  • Objectives To impart in-depth knowledge of normal growth and development.To train students to diagnose and manage common and complex pediatric illnesses.To develop skills in neonatal resuscitation, child nutrition assessment, and emergency management.To promote child health through community-based and preventive programs.To motivate students for clinical research in child health and related areas.

  • Curriculum coverage includes: Growth and Development, Nutrition and Infant Feeding, Immunization and Preventive Pediatrics, Neonatology and Perinatal Medicine, Pediatric Infectious Diseases,Pediatric Emergencies and Intensive Care, Genetic and Metabolic Disorders, Adolescent Medicine and Behavioral Pediatrics, Students gain practical experience through OPD sessions, ward rounds, emergency duty, case presentations, and clinical discussions under the guidance of experienced faculty.
