The Department of General Surgery at Sanskaram University is one of the most dynamic and essential departments in medical education and clinical practice. General Surgery focuses on the diagnosis, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of diseases involving various organ systems that require surgical intervention.
Our department plays a central role in shaping medical students and surgical trainees into competent, confident, and compassionate surgeons. Principles of Surgery and Asepsis, Wound Healing and Infection Control, Fluid and Electrolyte Management, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Breast, Thyroid, and Endocrine Surgery, Trauma and Emergency Surgery, Laparoscopic and Minimal Access Surgery, Burns, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgery, Vascular and Oncosurgery Fundamentals, Students gain extensive clinical exposure through ward postings, operation theatre training, outpatient clinics, and emergency rotations.
